(Bacopa monnieri) is an incredibly valued herb used traditonally in ayurvedic medicine. This plant grows in the wetlands of southern India and Southeast Asia, although it can also be found in Australia and both Americas. It is known in India as Brahmi or Jalanimba, where it has been classified as Medhya Rasayanas- meaning it rejuvenates, clarifies, and calms the mind. Brahmi improves memory and concentration, has an antidepressant and relaxing effect, increases libido, and helps in dementia and elderly disorientation. It is an antioxidant with adaptogenic effects, inhibits the neoplasmic processes, and facilitates the regeneration and renovation of tissue.
